BUAN 404 Machine Learning for Business

This introductory course uses python and gives you an overview of different techniques
in machine learning and how it can be applied to economics. The machine learning topics
include classification, linear and non-linear regressions, decision trees, and neural
networks. This course will give students the basic knowledge behind these machine
learning methods and the ability to utilize them in an economic setting. In this course,
students will start with a review of fundamentals of Python programming, including
developing environment, language syntax, variable types, data structure, and functions.
This course use case studies and examples from economics to illustrate the realistic use
of machine learning.
