BI 280 Pathology and Mechanism of Disease

This course is designed to provide students with an introduction to the development of disease and the effect the process induces on tissues, organs, and the body. The course will also examine specific diseases or disease conditions of humans. This course will have an emphasis on concepts of disease, pathogenesis, and the gross, microscopic, and clinicopathological changes associated with the disease: cell injury and death; cellular degeneration; disturbances of growth and circulation; neoplasia; inflammation; and recognition of gross and microscopic tissue changes.
