NU 305 Transition to Professional Practice
This course is designed with a focus on transitioning within the nursing profession from an Associate’s Degree preparation to a Baccalaureate Degree preparation. Role behaviors of the baccalaureate practitioner will be analyzed and applied within a framework of the healthcare environment and the ethical, legal, and social issues that influence nursing practice. Critical thinking skills are developed and emphasized as an essential component of professional practice. Critical thinking is a skill that will be the basis for all assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation within nursing practice as the student evolves within this new role. It will provide the student with the sound rationale to practice safely, effectively, and professionally.
