Post-Master's Certificate: Family Nurse Practitioner Online Program

Course Requirements

•   All course work can be completed online which provides greater flexibility and less disruption to your personal and employment obligations.

•   Courses are 16 weeks in length.

•   540 practicum hours with preceptor in conjunction with NU 561, NU 606, NU 607, and NU 621 are required. 

Admission Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • All official transcripts
  • Unencumbered RN license in state of residence and a copy of any other state license, including advanced practice licensure and certification
  • Criminal background check
  • Individual and professional liability insurance coverage that meets current state requirements
  • Statement of professional goals
  • Résumé
  • Undergraduate courses in statistics and health assessment (30 hours or greater) required
  • Undergraduate research course recommended
  • Two letters of recommendation (one from a supervisor from a recent health care position and one from a nursing peer)
  • Application processing fee
