Health Services
Sacred Heart University has partnered with Yale New Haven Health’s Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) to provide student health care. Students have access to a wide range of world-class health care options, with all Bridgeport Hospital and Yale New Haven Health resources available, including telehealth for evening and weekend hours. Students’ insurance will be billed for services at this facility.
Our Student Health Center is operated by Northeast Medical Group and staffed with clinicians who provide accessible, high-quality and cost-effective healthcare, serving the acute and chronic medical needs of SHU students.
All appointments can be scheduled via the online scheduler on the health services website, or, by calling 203-371-7838. Hours of operation can be found on the health services website, and services outside of these hours include the Video Care OnDemand option.
Any registered student who has provided their immunization history may access Student Health Services for:
- evaluation and treatment of acute illness and injury
- gynecological care
- minor procedures (such as suture removal, abscess drainage)
- diagnostic testing (strep throat tests, urine testing, and mono screens, which are rendered on site. Other laboratory testing is sent to an outside lab which bills the student's insurance plan).
- immunizations against influenza, measles, mumps, rubella and others
- tuberculosis screening
