Overview/Rationale
The Global Health minor provides students with the opportunity to expand horizons, cultivate a global perspective, and become a catalyst for positive change in the world. Students embark on a transformative journey that will prepare them to make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of communities worldwide and here at home.
By pursuing the Global Health minor, students will develop the critical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills necessary to tackle the most pressing health challenges of our time. Whether collaborating with international partners, responding to global health crises, researching the next treatment or vaccine, or innovating sustainable solutions within healthcare facilities, graduates of this program will be well-prepared to lead and succeed in a variety of settings.
Administered through the Health Science Program in the College of Health Professions, the Global Health minor is an ideal complement to a wide range of majors, enhancing students' marketability and opening doors to exciting career opportunities as health professionals, administrators, business executives or researchers in health, pharmaceutical, and medical organizations, non-profits, government agencies, research institutions and beyond.
