Transfer Credit Policy
The maximum number of transfer credits accepted varies by program. The acceptance of transfer credits for a graduate program is determined on a course-by-course basis by the Graduate Program Director, who reviews the student’s transcript and the syllabi of the course(s) being considered for transfer.
Courses must meet the following criteria to be eligible for transfer:
- Graduate-Level Courses: Only credits from graduate-level courses will be considered for transfer.
- Minimum Grade Requirement: The course grade earned must meet or exceed the minimum grade required by the specific program.
- Accredited Institutions: Credits must be earned from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
- Grading Criteria: Courses graded as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory or Pass/Fail are not eligible for transfer.
- GPA Calculation: Only credits earned at Sacred Heart University are included in the GPA calculation.
Students should refer to the graduate academic catalog to determine the specific transfer credit policy and criteria for their program.
