Welcome from the President
Dear Student,
Welcome to Sacred Heart University.
A university education is about more than earning a degree. It is an opportunity to deepen your knowledge, discover new possibilities, and prepare for the work that lies ahead. Whether you are beginning your studies or nearing graduation, Sacred Heart is committed to supporting your academic journey.
Learning at SHU extends beyond the classroom. Our faculty are accomplished teachers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to their students. Guided by the Catholic intellectual tradition, they encourage students to think critically and engage fully in the learning process.
This catalog is your guide to the University's academic programs, courses, and policies. I encourage you to use it often as you plan your studies and work with your faculty adviser. It is an important resource throughout your time at Sacred Heart.
I hope you will make the most of every opportunity this University offers. The effort you invest in your education and the experiences you have will stay with you long after graduation. I wish you every success and look forward to all that you will accomplish.
Sincerely,
John J. Petillo, Ph.D.
President
