Campus Ministry
Taking the Sacred Heart of Jesus as its guide and model, the Office of Campus Ministry dedicates itself to the sacramental life and faith development of all members of the university community, as well as those who find a spiritual home at SHU.
In keeping with its Catholic identity, Campus Ministry, together with student leaders, organizes the celebration of Mass on Sundays and weekdays throughout the year. Weekly Eucharistic Adoration is offered during the academic year as well. The office also offers a variety of events and activities, such as retreats and prayer and reflection groups, for those who wish to explore and engage more deeply in their spiritual lives. Campus ministry offers the sacrament of reconciliation weekly and by appointment. Similarly, spiritual and pastoral counseling is also available by appointment.
The office also takes seriously Christ’s love for all people and the Catholic Church’s ecumenical vision in supporting all people of faith. To that end, the Campus Ministry staff includes clergy of other faiths whom the office supports in their care for their particular faith communities. In addition, the office develops interfaith prayer services wherein the whole SHU community gathers together in common worship and fraternity.
