Sixth-Year Degree in Special Education
Sacred Heart University's flexible, online Sixth-Year Degree in Special Education is particularly well-suited for working professionals. Clinical requirements are intentionally scheduled during summer sessions to minimize potential employment-related conflicts. Summer sessions start at the end of May and conclude in the middle of August. All clinical requirements are supported using state-of-the-art technology, allowing for outstanding supervision and feedback to students.
Sacred Heart’s 30-credit advanced program in special education is intended for mid-career, licensed educators who possess a master's degree and are looking to advance their teaching skillsets and professional opportunities.
Applicants who have not yet earned their master’s degree have the opportunity to complete their special education coursework through SHU's Master of Education in Special Education.
The Graduate Transfer Credit Policy governs the approval of transfer credits.
